Dogs have always been used for many things. They have been used as

guards, draught animals, eyes for the blind,drug and explosive
detectors, rodent controllers and so have a bunch of roles in our lives

Mainly they are just good company.

I helped to train a puppy to be a seeing eye dog and it was most interesting
